Arise, Spain and Shine!

Greetings to each one of you, dear brothers and sisters who have joined the prayer chain and/or are otherwise in touch with us. And welcome to all who are joining us this month. 500 have now committed themselves to the 15 minute round-the-clock prayer slots and many more are receiving the prayer news and praying. There are more topics and helps in Spanish published in a leaflet ("España, Levántate y Resplandece" Guía de Oracón) by the Conference for the Evangelisation of Spain (CEE) and available from decision@e-decision.org As usual we request that you send us your prayer requests from around the country and that you continue to recruit people to join the prayer chain. Likewise, you could forward this bulletin to partners on your e.mail list. Again, you can find out more about the CEE by visiting the web site: http://www.webcindario.com/confevan In this number we list events chronologically, rahter than by regions. There are a good number of evangelistic events and campaigns which we are asking prayer for. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you go before Him to present these needs.

1-2 Public Celebration in La Coruña, Galicia, celebrating the 200th birthday of George Borrow, Bible Society colporter and author, who visited the city - 3-6 1st National Youth Congress, Ourense, Galicia, organised by FEREDE, the Federation of Evangelical Churches - 7-13 Summer Mission in Ourense, Galicia, led by Baptist church - 9-30 Annual churches' campaign in La Coruña, Galicia

REGIONS

Pray for the Regions of Valencia and Catalonia, bordering the Mediterranean. Give thanks for the relatively established nature of the churches and the numbers of young people, including immigrants, coming to the Lord. Pray for the leaders, regional and local governments and for the Lord's blessing on the land, but also for greater opportunities taken up to witness and reach out; for the local congregations and good relationships between them; for ministries to the needy. Pray also for the Canary Islands, for strengthening of the churches through the visit of MV Doulos, commitment of the young people to reach out to the islands, to the peninsula( Spain) and to the world beyond; that ,many will be stirred by the arrivals of African illegals to reach out to them and to the islamic world they largely come from.

Permanent Network for the evangelisation of Spain

God's people are awaking. We are amazed at the speed with which the spirit both of leaders and church members has woken up to the need to join the Prayer Network. We are trusting for a big catch, due to the unity and cooperation. Why don't you print this out and pass it around or forward it to your friends by e.mail? Prayer projects from around the regions:

Andalucía: 1. Miguel Rueda writes from Malaga to join the Network and sends in prayer requests for the "Elim" church plant in Colonia Santa Inés. This is a neighbourhood of Puerto de la Torre where there is no church for the 30.000 inhabitants. So far they have been working to plant this church for five months and two have made professions of faith along with others who are interested. 2. Other projects of Evangelism in Action in Malaga are: "La Puerta" (the door) an outreach to immigrants in a cultural centre; "Operation Philip" a regular evangelistic outreach in the Paseo del Parque, a beautiful downtown park linking the city and port areas, again reaching out to muslim immigrants. and those passing through between North Africa and their work places in northern Europe. Cordoba: 1. On Saturday 29th March at the Cordoba jail there will be a "liberation" service. This is a joint outreach of several churches (Baptist, AoG, Salem and Free Independent.) 2. In the town of Montilla there is a campaign planned for the summer, 2nd to 13th June. German young people will join us. This will be preceded by the "Day of your Neighbour" on April 6th. Murcia: 1. Pray for an opportunity to run the exhibition of ?Bible and Culture? (Bible Society). Permission has been requested for use of public buildings at the town hall. 2. A new church is being planted "Carismatic Christian Centre of Murcia". It's been running for 8 months and continues to hold regular evangelistic activities.

Valencia: The El Salvador Baptist church has evangelistic outreaches on: 16th March, 27th April, 18th May and 8th June

Madrid: 1. 29th March at the Mejorada del Campo church there will be an evangelistic outreach at the Cultural Centre. 2. In Torrejón de Ardoz an on-going youth outreach called Mosaic

Galicia: a Prison outreach is held regularly on Saturday afternoons in Pereira de Aguiar, Ourense. 15 to 20 prisoners attend the meetings. Also in Ourense city there will be a youth congress early July.
