I am not ashamed of the Gospel
Bulletin nº21 (July 05)
The Bulletin of the Prayer Network for the Evangelisation of Spain
" for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes." (Ro. 1:16)
The Gospel, transforming power
"Mass evangelisation helps to create a climate of righteousness and honesty in all aspects of the life of a nation" says evangelist Luís Palau. "Such an atmosphere opens doors so that the Body of Christ can have a greater influence on society as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Thousands of people are converted and their lives are transformed. The city and the entire nation can be affected in the economic, social and political arenas. This is happening in many countries. A more people come to Christ, so the effect on society grows. In this way the proclamation of the Gospel contributes to positive social change." ("Comunicándonos", electronic bulletin of FestiMadrid).
Thank you Lord for FESTIMADRID!

Beloved Heavenly Father, we are filled with joy and gratitudefor what we have lived these days with Festimadrid. (We hope this will have been only a first edition!) Your spirit is happy and thus so are we. We have not allowed the opportunity to pass by for a visitation of the Lord to our city. Many are the answers to our prayers: good, but not too hot weather; the attendance of thousands of people on the 24th and 25th of June; hundreds of decisions for Christ, starting at the first event, the women's programme on Tuesday, 21st, through the businessmen's event and through to the main meetings on the Friday and Saturday. Lord, thank you for what we could see, not just these days, but over the past months of preparations as volunteers came in to help in all areas of the work. Many 'worked', while many more prayed, invited contacts and brought them. You brought a great degree of unity. We saw many immigrant believers joining hands with Spanish church members to complete the work. Support came from other regions and even countries. The media took note and reported. The children also had a festival. Thank you for all this and more, as we continue in the future to learn what you have done, Lord.
Why are we so happy? is it because Luis Palau reminded us on Romans 1:16? Is it because at the last moment on the last evening we had the wonderful surprise of seeing singer Rocío Jurado come up on the stage while "El Puma" and Luis prayed for her health? This certainly increased the rejoicing among the participants, perhaps becuase we were shaken out of our feeling that we are an inferior minority as evangelicals, sometimes to the extent of paralysing us. We have seen that together we can get where we have never got before, and that we can touch the lives of other social classes. We rejoice because we have seen an excellent presentation of the Gospel which was appealing to so many who would usually not shadow the door of our buildings. It was a gospel with an appeal to turn from the sin which so hurts the family. We saw many respond to this appeal and turn to Christ. really, Lord, you revived in us the hope that your gospel will transform many lives and will be medicine for this our sick society!
Dear Father, we say yes and Amen to palau's words to the pastors and leaders in Madrid. "This is the beginning of a spiritual awakening in Spain." We are filled with joy because there is joy in heaven when one sinner repents. Before us lies the vast task of follow-up and discipling of the new converts. We pray for them. Give them pastors and teachers who will guide them and teach them all that you commanded us. Amen, may it be so!
We pray and preach because we are not ashamed.
