Prayer requests, Spring 2007

Since April, 2006, we regret to say the new prayer team from the Spanish Evangelists' Conference has been unable to produce a prayer letter. Do pray for the team as they attempt to add this new responsibility to their very busy schedule. We now expect there to be a new start in the New Year.

Easter 2007

Mission Possible

This Missions conference took place over Easter. It was led by the Federation of Free Evangelicals, but open to all and it was at least as successful as the previous one in raising awareness of the need for missions, at least among the youth of more conservative churches. Some one thousand young people attended. Pr<y for a new wave of missions awareness and response to the appeal to consider the missionary call.

Easter Outreach, Alcalá de Henares, Madrid.

Pray for the results of this outreach, led by the local Brethren Assembly with Spanish volunteers and a team from GLO, Britain. Dates: 30th March to Easter day. More (in Spanish)

'Good News' youth congress, 'Revolution 2007' in Las Palmas

This denomination will bring together their youth for a congress in the Canaries.

Troubles in Turkey

Missions awareness has recently been raised by the dramatic death of 3 Christian workers involved in a printing workshop in Eastern Turkey. One of the leading pastors in Turkey is a Spaniard, Carlos Madrigal, and due to his involvement in the ministry at national level, Spanish churches have been much affected by the tragedy. Silent demonstrations have been called in front of city halls across the country for 6th March at 9 p.m., time of the main news bulletings on TV.

Sala de Espera

The Spanish Evangelists' Conference has a new project for 2007. Called Sala de Espera (Waiting Room), it is a bimonthly free distribution magazine, which will be placed in waiting rooms of all kinds, as well as handed to interested people by members of numerous churches. At least that is the plan. So far a number of churches has signed up and the go-ahead has been given for printing the first number. Sponsors are welcome! More from the Conference page!

Upcoming activities

The Pocket Testament League announces it's regional 'Evangelical Olympics'

These games for children from the churches and their friends and guests, take place over the coming months in the following places (& dates)

Madrid 19th May
Galicia 2nd June
Barcelona 6th October

Pray for the witness of families at these events, at which leading evangelical sports personalities give their testimonies and the gospel is preached.

Global Day of Prayer

Some churches and groups around Spain are joining in this initiative which takes place on Pentecost Sunday.
