Football (soccer): European Cup Spain drew 0-0 in Iceland friendly in warm-up to next round of internationals; Supercup final Barça meets Sevilla; Champions' League Barça drawn with Chelsea in first phase.

Tennis Wimbledon runner up and Roland Garros winner, Rafa Nadal, knocked out in Cincinnati by Juan Carlos Ferrero who fell to Roddick in final; Wimbledon: Nadal was first male Spaniard for 40 years to reach the final; Conchita Martinez (Wimbledon women's Champion '94) finally retired in May.
