Camps suffer from summer weather extremes

We have recently heard of two evangelical camps which have suffered from this summer's extreme weather. In Madrid, the Pinos Reales Camp was partially destroyed by fire on 1st August. In the mid-month storms, the Catalan camp L'Arcada was hit by a major storm.

The Pinos Reales fire caused major damage. The origins of the fire were far from the camp and caused by people burning waste in a reckless manner. 'Pinos Reales' (Royal Pines),one of Spain's most important summer camps is about 50km to the west of Madrid. It is run by Evangelismo En Acción http://www.evangelismoenaccion.com/Eng/indexin.htm

In L'Arcada, Girona, hail stones the size of oranges hit the camp on August 20th. Designed around the American Indian theme, the camp has a large number of tents, which were badly affected. All the vehicles were also damaged, including broken screens and many dents in the bodywork. The L'Arcada team praise the Lord that there were no human injuries. Alos, it worked out that a neighbouring camp had a free week, so the 120 present were immediately accommodated in the other house.
